Conservation Advice

ADAS is working on behalf of Defra to provide conservation advice to farmers and growers throughout England. Advice is currently focused on Environmental Stewardship, Defra's new agri-environment scheme launched in March 2005.

ADAS is working with Natural England, LEAF and the Game Conservancy Trust with additional support from the RSPB to deliver practical farm walks and workshops. The objective of these events is to explain to farmers and land managers how they can participate in different levels of the Environmental Stewardship Scheme (Entry Level and Higher Level Stewardship) to improve the wildlife, landscape and habitat value of their farm, and to protect the natural resources of soil and water.

Events are being held on a range of arable and livestock farms for both conventional and organic producers. Farmers wishing to register for an event can contact ADAS by emailing conservation@adas.co.uk or by telephoning 01954 268301.
